The Hay Creek Dam was originally constructed in 1967. It is located 5 km west of Port Dover, Norfolk County, and is approximately 3 km west of its outlet at Lake Erie. The dam came under ownership of LPRCA in 1971. The Hay Creek Dam is an earthen berm structure with a concrete spillway containing wooden stoplogs. The structure is 57 years old and experiencing some noticeable deterioration. Fordes Engineering and Chant Limited together carried over dam safety assessment and repairs design based the requirements of LPRCA.
